How we test
Every review on this site follows the same process. We don't accept payment for rankings, and a commission link never changes a score. Here is exactly what we check and why.
01We use the tools
We buy or trial each tool and use it on real connections, rather than rewriting a company's feature list. Where a claim can only be confirmed through hands-on use, we say so plainly.
02Privacy comes first
We weigh logging policy, jurisdiction, audit history, and whether the apps are open-source. A no-logs claim with an independent audit behind it counts; one without does not.
03We test for leaks
We check each VPN for DNS, IPv6, and WebRTC leaks, and verify the kill switch actually cuts traffic when the connection drops.
04Real pricing, not headline pricing
We report the true long-term cost after introductory rates end, and flag renewal jumps so you can budget for what you'll actually pay.
05Honest disclosure
Some links earn us a commission at no cost to you. This funds the testing and never influences a verdict. When we don't recommend something, we say why.
